Hoover Dam

Straddling the mighty Colorado River at the border of Arizona and Colorado stands Hoover Dam. Built during the Great Depression in the 1930s, its construction was a massive undertaking with impressive stats: 2.2kms. high, almost half a km long, 200m wide at its base and 17 gigantic underground turbines that generates enough electricity to power Vegas and then some. But what I remember most during our brief pit stop here was the ice cream that got knocked off from my hand as we were staring down at the spillway. It just fell down, down, down…..like forever!
