Embarking on a Yangtze Cruise

We boarded the Victoria Jenna in Chongqing for the 4-day, 600km. cruise down the Yangtze River to Yichang. It was late in the afternoon when our taxi from the airport dropped us off the pier and we had to make our way to the boat thru floating bridges strung halfway to the midpoint of the river. Two porters carried our luggage and we really felt like adventurers embarking on a great journey! We departed as night fell and everybody was on deck to see the lights of the city slowly disappear until it was pitch dark and only the stars above and the sound of the throbbing engine kept us company.
