This church on the shores of Lake Tekapo on the South Island of New Zealand is one of the most photographed places in the country. Built in 1935 and used by different denominations to commemorate the early settlers, it has become famous because of its striking location standing all by itself on the side of the bright, turquoise lake with nothing else but tussock grass and the big blue sky as a background. At night, it becomes even more startling since the Milky Way, along with billions of sparkling stars, hang above it from the still, dark heavens.
